Sarah Palmer – As A Real House

“This series, “As A Real House,” explores dark corners of remembrance and identity, while looking at the medium of photography and my own desire through a prism, breaking them apart. The work traces my longing to understand how time is trapped inside, like a fossil in rock, and illuminates my possible failure. I hope to reveal the vulnerability of both subject and medium, to expose all bodies as written texts. I seek to catalog photography’s guts through intentionality and accident, to examine the boundary of the real and the invented, the immediate and the hidden, the desirable and the grotesque.”  – [MoMA PS1]
